Badalona, a city of some 200 thousand inhabitants on the Meditterean coast, is the third most-populated municipality in Catalonia. Badalona forms part of the Barcelona metropolitan area and is located on the left bank of the Besòs River. Truly a historic city, Badalona was where Christopher Columbus was received after his voyage to the Americas! Badalona was also was crucial to the hosting of the Barcelona Olympic Games of 1992 and so now, alongside its history, the city beckons tourists with as many as nine completely renewed golden beaches.
